We are delighted to welcome Bethan Watts to the Children's History Society as our new Social Media Officer, taking over from Sait Kirtepe, who has been doing sterling work for us for the past three years.

Bethan is a PhD researcher at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David focusing on the lived experiences and material culture of children in Late Medieval England, particularly within domestic settings. Drawing upon multidisciplinary methods, her PhD thesis also explores how medieval children connected with their communities, interacted with medicine and faith, and formed familial and non-familial relationships. Bethan’s other research interests include attitudes to health and hygiene, and the material culture of historical homes.  She has published three non-fiction books about life in Tudor and Victorian England, and her work has appeared in magazines such as BBC Who Do You Think You Are? and featured on podcasts such as HistoryHit’s Not Just the Tudors. She is a Postgraduate Member of the Royal Historical Society.

The Children's History Society is a non-for-profit society promoting the history of children and youth in the United Kingdom and the world.
